McLauren identifies the world’s four deep dysfunctions:
  • crisis in prosperity: environmental breakdown caused by our unsustainable global economy
  • crisis in equity: the growing gap between the poor and the rich
  • crisis in security: the growing danger of cataclysmic war
  • crisis in spirituality: The failure to provide a “framing story” capable of healing or reducing the other 3 crises.

Shouldn’t the church have a voice in these issues? What would happen if we applied the teachings of Jesus to these global epidemics? What if the church reached beyond the few issues that it pins itself down on? What if, instead of teaching mainly about a heaven after earth, we began to bring heaven to earth?

I don't personally believe that there is a "crisis" in equity.
